An International Career Opportunity in Hospitality Finance
STAIRS – People Advisors is supporting an international hospitality group in the recruitment of a Finance Manager to join its 5-star all-inclusive resort on Cape Verde.We are looking for a hands-on finance professional with a strong hospitality background, sound business judgment and proven experience in hotel financial operations.This opportunity offers the chance to take ownership of the finance function within an international resort environment, working closely with hotel management and the Group's finance leadership. The ideal candidate will combine financial expertise, operational understanding and leadership capabilities, with the adaptability required to succeed in an international hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the resort's finance and administrative operations, ensuring accurate financial information and effective internal controls.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, financial planning and performance reporting.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial statements.
- Monitor operational performance, analyse financial results and provide actionable recommendations to hotel management.
- Partner closely with operational departments to strengthen cost control, profitability and financial efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and develop the local finance and administrative team.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting tools and internal procedures.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Group finance leadership, supporting both operational and strategic decisions.
Profile:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
- Solid professional experience in hotel or resort finance, ideally within international hospitality groups.
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Assistant/Deputy Director of Finance or in a comparable position with broad financial responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and operational cost control.- Experience leading finance teams and working closely with hotel operations.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial management systems.
- Previous international hospitality experience, particularly in resort or all-inclusive environments, will be highly valued.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, combined with a practical and business-oriented approach.
- Ability to adapt to an international working environment and willingness to relocate to Cape Verde.
- Professional working proficiency in English; Portuguese and/or French language skills will be highly valued.
