About the Job:
CME is seeking an Environmental Compliance Coordinator to join a Project in Sines, reporting directly to the HSE Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of all environmental requirements applicable to the Contractor under the DCAPE, PAAO and project-specific environmental commitments, while monitoring environmental performance, maintaining compliance records, supporting sustainability reporting and managing the collection and validation of project environmental KPIs, including resource consumption, waste, environmental incidents, workforce environmental awareness and carbon-related construction data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure implementation and verification of all environmental mitigation measures and obligations assigned to the Contractor under the DCAPE, PAAO and applicable environmental permits.
- Conduct routine site inspections, identify environmental non-conformities, monitor corrective actions and support environmental audits.
- Coordinate environmental training, inductions, toolbox talks and workforce awareness programs.
- Collect, validate and report environmental and sustainability KPIs, including energy, fuel, water, wastewater, waste, environmental incidents, environmental toolboxes and workforce environmental statistics.
- Support environmental incident response, spill management investigations and implementation of preventive measures.
- Maintain environmental records, monitoring logs, compliance trackers and reporting documentation required by the Client, project team and regulatory authorities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of environmental management experience on major construction, infrastructure, industrial or data center projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Experience in environmental compliance monitoring, inspections, audits and sustainability reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and environmental KPI management and analysis.
- Fluent English (C1 level mandatory);
